Somaliland: Late Ali Sugulle’s State Funeral Unites Opponents

DSC_0077H.E Ahmed Mohamed Mahmoud Silanyo, President of the Republic of Somaliland, was among the hundreds of mourners attending the State funeral of the Late Poet Ali Sugulle Egal “Duncarbeed” which took place earlier today at the Naso H-Habalod cemetery in Hargeisa.e1ef7367-6aa9-4648-a7ac-d695af43daeeEarly this morning the plane carrying the remains of the poet Ali Sugulle from the United Arab Emirates arrived at the Egal International Airport where hundreds of mourners had gathered.

Somaliland Armed Forces units were at hand to receive the flag-wrapped casket carrying the remains of the Late Poet Ali Sugulle Egal, to be followed by the Janazah prayers which took place at the Egal International Airport Mosque.

The State funeral Late Poet Ali Sugulle Egal at the Nasoo Hablod cemetery , among those attending were members of both houses , members of the three political parties, traditional leaders, elders, intellectuals and the general public .

Finally, after the remains of the gather Late Poet Ali Sugulle Egal “Duncarbeed” were lowered to the grave , mourners gathered together as Supplication for the deceased was recited.

On the other hand, the funeral of late Ali Sugulle served as a healing elixir for many a, erstwhile member of the Siilaanyo government who fell out of grace with the leader at varied stages during the tenure of the KULMIYE-led administration.

Typical of Somaliland’s unique culture many of the President’s earlier friends who, at one time or another, joined opposition camps filed to warmly shake the veteran leader’s hand at the graveside where he was seated.
