Police arrest a Somali man who allegedly raped a Swedish woman in Gzira at 4:30 am.
The police have arrested a Somali man in connection with the alleged rape of a Swedish woman in Gzira.
In a statement, the police said that they received an anonymous phonecall at around 4:30am that an alleged rape was taking place in Triq Gerry Zammit, Gzira.
The district police and RIU went on site and immediately arrested the rape suspect. An ambulance took the victim to Mater Dei Hospital for medical treatment.
Magistrate Josette Demicoli was informed about the case and she appointed several experts to assist her in the inquiry.
