A suicide car bomber killed three police officers when he blew his car outside a police academy in the Somalia capital Wednesday, police said.

The bomber targeted a café outside the academy where cadets were taking a short break before resuming their morning classes in the academy. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the blast; however, the attack carried hallmarks for Al-Shabaab group which continues guerrilla attacks across the country.

A US airstrike killed more than 150 militants in central Somalia on Saturday, however, the militant group accused the US government of exaggerating the causalities from the attack.
