وقال إن الإمارات لعبت دوراً بارزاً في مساندة أبناء شعب جمهورية أرض الصومال، خلال العقود الثلاثة الماضية، ومازالت يد الخير الإماراتية ممتدة بالعطاء والعمل الانساني في مختلف بقاع الأرض، مضيفاً أن المنفذ التجاري والاقتصادي الرئيسي لدولته على العالم الخارجي، مؤكدافي الوقت ذاته على استمرارية نمو وتطور هذه العلاقة الأخوية إلى مستويات أعلى من الشراكة الاستراتيجية.
وأفاد خلال لقاء جمعه بأبناء جالية جمهورية أرض الصومال بالدولة، بحضور محمود حسن سعيد، وزير التجارة والصناعة والسياحة، والشخصيات العامة والاعلاميين، بمناسبة توليه مهام منصب السفير في الدولة، بانه من المتوقع زيادة حجم الاستثمارات الإماراتية بأرض الصومال في جميع المجالات، لاسيما في البنية التحتية والمشاريع التنموية ذات البعد الاستراتيجي. مؤكدا أن استثمار موانئ دبي العالمية في إدارة وتطوير ميناء بربرا الاستراتيجي بأرض الصومال يعتبر بداية مبشرة لعلاقات تجارية واستثمارية مستقبلية قريبا.
وأشاد باستمرار الدعم الخيري والانساني اللامحدود والمتواصل للإمارات، لشعب جمهورية أرض الصومال منذ نهاية الثمانينات، حيث تعرض شعبه للإبادة الجماعية والمحن والمجاعات الأخيرة، في وقت أبدى سعادته وحكومته وشعبه بالجهود الجبارة التي قدمتها الإمارات، مؤخرا عبر إرسال طوافات إغاثية لنجدة المتضررين من الأعاصير قبل عدة أسابيع، واضاف أنّ هذه الوقفة .زايد.ليستغريبة على حكومة دولة الإمارات وشعبها المعطاء وخصوصا ونحن في” عام زايد.

وأوضح، أن حجم الاستثمارات بين البلدين كبير ومتنوع، مشيراً إلى أنها تغطي البنية التحتية والصحية والتعليم، ولافتاً إلى وجود عدد من الاتفاقيات التجارية والاقتصادية. كما أشار إلى دعم الإمارات اللامحدود والمتواصل منذ أيام الجفاف والحرب التي امتدت لوقت طويل.
وأشار إلى افتتاح مكتب التمثيل التجاري الذي يعتبر نواة لتنظيم وتطوير العلاقات التجارية والاستثمارية بين البلدين. وكان المكتب تم افتتاحه في مارس الماضي
