A new Mayor Cllr. Osman Suleiman Jama has been elected in Las Anod following a no confidence verdict passed upon the incumbent Cllr. Abdiqadir Jama Salah by the elected civil councilors.
In an overwhelming thunderous voice, 16 ayes, a single no and 4 abstentions was more than enough to send the mayor packing and ushering the new one, in a vote whose exercise underwent in a peaceful and harmonious manner.
In turn, the new Mayor extended his hand of co-operation and thanked his predecessor for having steered the municipal’s services for the past several years.
Cllr. Abdiqadir’s reciprocal voice was one of bolstering solidarity hence pledged to work closely with the new Mayor.
The regional governor Mr. Yasin M. Shide who was present during the exercise praised the civic leaders for their smooth and orderly manner of changing their guards.
Cllr. Jama thanked those who supported and voted him into the new office.
