Manchester United have been busy practising their heading skills whilst on their pre-season tour of the United States by filming their own version of the header bin challenge.

Chris Smalling, Michael Carrick and Jesse Lingard are among eight players taking part, heading a football between each other before nodding it into a waste bin.

They managed to complete an impressive 22 touches before youngster Lingard dropped the ball into the bin. So delighted was the 22-year-old midfielder he celebrated by picking the bin up and putting it on his head.

The header bin challenge was kicked off by Chelsea earlier this year when footage of John Terry, Eden Hazard, Didier Drogba, Thibaut Courtois, John Obi Mikel, Branislav Ivanovic and Loic Remy heading a ball over a dinner table went viral. Their particular effort involved just seven touches.

Despite Manchester United players completing an impressive 22 touches, their effort is upstaged by the St Johnstone youth team who were filmed earlier this summer stringing together an incredible 47 headers.Manchester United play their final pre-season game of the season against PSG on Thursday before starting their Premier League campaign against Tottenham.
